Mission Statement
Hofstra Law’s Center for Children, Families and the Law

Hofstra Law’s Center for Children, Families and the Law was established in 2001 in response to the urgent need for more effective representation for children and families in crisis.  Students are provided with the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and families engaged in the legal system through interdisciplinary and experiential learning including unique opportunities to participate in community service, public policy projects, legal representation, dispute resolution, and research. The Center provides advanced training for professionals by sponsoring lectures, symposia, conferences, ongoing family law reform initiatives and by facilitating dialogue among academic disciplines, practitioners, policy makers and the judiciary.
